#1 Caregiver complaint – There is no time for me!

Clients who are caring for their loved ones with long term illness often report having no time for themselves and/or feeling like they lose themselves in the caregiving role.

Is that really true? Are you really lost? Do you really have no time for you?

You get to choose if you get “lost”. You get to decide if there is no time for you.

I have a client who runs a family business and her husband is dying. They have hospice and caregivers in the home. She used to tell me she never had her own time. After many tweaks they have discovered in order for her to have her time, she stays up with him in the evenings when he is anxious so they can spend time together in his final days. She then works late at night when he sleeps and gets a lot done.  This allows her to sleep and have her own time during the day. It did not come easy and this schedule is working for them.

You are worth making time for you. Don’t let yourself get lost.
